Travellers in Cairns can grab a great deal to international destinations including one-way trips to Tokyo or Bali for as little as $199 and $139 respectively via JetStar.

Until Tuesday 4th September, jet-setters can also get away to Honolulu for $354 or Phuket for $324 one-way.

Operating via SilkAir, the Asian airline is offering return flights to Athens for $968, London for $1215 and Amsterdam for $1084.
