The finish is in line with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for the intended use.

All UPVC lever pads for handles come with a spindle, screws and can be installed on a uPVC conservatory door handles. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm allow for a wider handle, which is typically a benefit when replacing a damaged or old multi-point door lock mechanism. These handle levers have springs, which eliminate the issue of door handles that sag out of horizontal position when they are not being used.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are typically used on uPVC doors, but can also be used on other types of door. The cylinder lock operates with a key that unlocks the cylinder case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned with those in the lock, and permit them to turn the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins. Internal and external doors require different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is crucial; it depends on the way your door and handle are used. External doors, for example, should be fitted with cylinders that are more secure while doors inside can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders come with additional features that increase security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump features.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it must be measured correctly. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, if there is one. If you are unable to measure using the lock in its position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon may be vulnerable to attacks, such as lock snapping, so it is essential to make sure it's not too long.

The design of the latest cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease attacks by forcing cylinders to rotate in a different direction. This can help to deflect attacks and keep your door safe.

Some cylinders are designed to withstand snapping. This is a growing method of attack on cylinders where the break line in the lock is attacked using a special tool to break off the front of the cylinder and allow the door to be opened. This is a faster and more convenient method of gaining access than the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the break-in which could make it difficult to prove insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is located in the base of your door handle backplate providing a sprung solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their original position after use. In the past, a lot of handles of this kind didn't have a spring built into them, and without it they can droop or 'drop' once the locking mechanism is removed. Adding this simple component is one of the most effective ways to fix this and it is also an effective way to keep your doors made of upvc from becoming stuck in either closed or open position, as these are not always easy to manually close by hand.

These spring cassettes are specially designed for use with sprung multipoint locks, they will not fit non-sprung multipoint handles. You must have a hole specifically cut in your backplate in order for them to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes are a replacement to broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are sold as one unit. They have a square-cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
