Social work practice is often divided into micro-work, which involves working directly with individuals or small groups; and macro-work, which involves working with communities within social policy - fostering change on a larger scale.

India has a relatively advanced education system in the region. India has a literacy rate of 74 percent which is better than Pakistan's 57 percent but significantly less thanSri Lanka's literacy rate of 92 percent. Volunteering your time and efforts towards children can make a very big impact. Creating awareness among the people for helping the poor and needy people can get more and more individuals join the drive. These volunteers can help in arranging free health camps, doctors can be invited to treat the poor and needy people.

Even the smallest efforts counts. One cannot make such people's lifestyle lavish but can at least help them achieve the essentials of life and lead a prosperous life.
